Christmas is coming!

We have 3 cool snowboarders, 1 sugar plum fairy, and 1 bob the builder boy. Wer' sure to have a white Christmas, it snows alot. It is so pretty. The other day the sun was shinning on the snow falling off the trees. It was beautiful.
Then the other night we all decided to go play in the snow.We got into a snow throwing fight while Matthew just sat there eating it.
Abby was showing the boys up on the snow board, she has great balance. And Benny found some kids ski's at the Goodwill and he loves them. He figured out the need for poles though so he grabbed some sticks and off he went. I'm proud of him. He's learning resillience! He's getting back into trains again too. But now he has to share with Abby and Matthew, they really play together well, (most of the time).
We just finished making Creation books. The kids each painted a picture for each day of Creation and wrote down the Scripture that goes with it. We have learned so much, you think you know the Story of Creation, but wow, we learned about who we are because of what God has made and how He has a special plan for us all. I think they really enjoed it. It took alot longer than I thought it would though. I also have been praying for good books for them to build their character. I know the Lord led us to this sale where I found an unabridged Websters Dictionary, a leather Thesoras, "The Book of Virtues" for children and Benny bought a tiny set of Emily Dickenson, Poe, Shakespear, and one other I cant remember, He has started to write his own stories now in a little note book, wow Praise God right! The proper way to slide down a hill, Benny calls it the penguin slide. Face first on the belly. It really looks like a penguin too.

We had the perfect sledding hill. Jas had to get them a snow board. Matthew likes everything but snow on his hands. The big boys are actually pretty good at snowboarding now.

Some of Abby's beautiful art work.

"The Lord will perfect that which concerns me." Psalm 138:8

The Lord : ( who is He but God Himself, My heavenly Father, Prince of Peace, The Holy One,Creator)
Will: ( That is a promise, He will do it)
perfect: ( complete something,to make something as good as possible, or to bring something to completion.)
that which
concerns: (affair that should involve somebody: a matter that affects somebody, or that somebody has the right to be involved with.)
me!
I know this little tree doesn't look like much. But I saw it through the window and it truly amazed me. The colors on every leaf were so vivid and each one was fading into diffrent vibrant colors. I had to stop and take a look, (and a picture).
It was going through a process. A chemical reaction that caused the leaves to turn colors, I know. But It was more than that. There was such beauty in this one little tree. I had to capture it for all time. I didnt know what it would look like tomorow.
We too are going through a process, what ever the cause from the outside we are being changed. Daily. Moment by moment , from glory to glory. And we are so beautiful to our Heavenly Father. It does not matter to Him if we are in full bloom, if the leaves on the tree are changing, and falling, if were just begining to bud, or if we are completly barren altogether. He knows we are going through this process called life. That each one of us is on our own path, and in our own place. His love remains the same. Unchanging. He is outside of time, like the sun is outside the seasons. His love is sure and steady no matter if it's windy, or raining where I am. His glow is steady, His gaze is strong, His arms are sturdy, His love goes on...
May you know His love today, Stephanie
Matthew and Felix, He's saying "Cheese"
It has been raining here for I don't know how long. It does let up for a day or two then the faucet gets turned back on. It isn't like a thunderstorm type of rain. It's more like a continuous light rain shower. If this ever happened in Anza there would be serious problems!
On a sunny day if I see a cloud in the sky I say no, no, no! Go away!
Anyway I have to say we have 2 cute kitties our neighbor gave us.
Their names are Felix and Sparkles. Matthew calls them Fewix and Pawkles. (It sounds much cuter than that.) He loves them so much. I'm suprized how patient they are with him!( And that their not dead!)

Where your treasure is

"Do not lay up for yourselfs treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where theifs break in and steal; "but lay up for yourselfs treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where theives do not break in and steal.

"For where your treasure is,there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:19-21

It goes on to say "The lamp of the body is the eye"... These verses are about where your focus is, where your attentions lie, " Where your treasure is!" The enemy can so easily decieve us into believing our joy and hapiness comes from our surroundings or situations. By this we tend to judge if were happy and content.

This morning I have been thinking about joy and my (so often) lack of it . Discontentment, "the grass is always greener" mentality and the "I want " (fill in the blank) syndrome can permeate a person and make you feel miserable! Why are we prone to try and create joy in our lives by gathering to ourselves? By feeding our own fleshly desires, by acting selfishly.

Epecially at this time of year, because of our culture we start thinking about THINGS and presents and money. Maybe our lack of it! But this is the wrong focus even if our intentions are good.

Jesus said in Luke 12:15 And He said to them "Take heed and beware of covetousness, for ones life does not consist in the things he posesses."

The answer is our focus. "Lord, refocus my eyes" put them back on You. The Bible says, " The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil." This is so true ! What is behind the love of money but selfishness. Think of Zacheus. He had money , but when the Lord touched his heart he was compelled to give it all back (and then some) he my friend, found the source of true joy Jesus. The saying JOY- Jesus, Others, Yourself is the right focus.

This kind of joy led him to act contrary to what he had been doing, instead of gathering it to himself, he began to give it all away. Truly joyful people are people who think of others before themselves. People who are willing to go the extra mile because someone else is more important to them than they are to themselves.

One lady I know epitomizes this to me. Gerry Weir or Gram as we call her. She does not have alot. But whatever she has she will freely give away. She is an example of Christ to me.

My digital camera broke recently and I was not able to send pictures to anyone. Well you know what she did? She wrapped up her own camera and the instruction booklet and mailed it to me. She was thinking like Jesus! And you can all thank her for the pictures of the kids.

If God is love, which He is, in 1 Corinthians Chapter 13 He explains what love isto us in detail.

"Though I speak with the tounges of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal." And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing."

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor , and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love , it profits me nothing.

"Love suffers long and is kind: love does not envy: love does not parade itself, is not puffed up: does not behave rudely, does not seek it's own , is not provoked, thinks no evil.

Does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all thing, hopes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13:1-7

God is love and love is the opposite of selfishness. In Love God created the earth and everything in it. He saw that it was good. He created it all for our benefit and enjoyment. Everything we use can be traced back to something God made.

In Love He created us with a free will to choose Him, or to deny Him. In Love He created us male and female to have and to hold each other in marraige. In love he gave us offspring, like -kind to be fruitfull and multiply and fill the earth. In love, He gave us the ability to love each other!
In love He so unselfishly gave Himself , His life, for the ransom of many. He is our example of what love is.
We were never meant to look inward or outward at our circumstances for peace, joy and contentment. Joy, true joy comes from Him. May you know His love today, Stephanie

"Now that wer'e men!"

Hi everyone
Congrats Mike & Carrie on the new little Guy. What a treasure. We are doing well. Learning to adjust and live with the animals. This week the boys became MEN. They took of their shirts, and yelled and sang "now that we're men!" As they chopped down a tree. They all took turns untill we yelled "Timber!" and down it went .CRASH. Then they proceed to hack off a good size log all by them selves . The triumph of this feat led them to bolt for the freezing cold river and go for a dip. All the while singing "Now that we're men!"
If that was'nt enough the next day ,our friend took them all shooting in the forest. Kyle was not real sure about the shot gun, so he looked away and pulled the trigger and ended up hitting the target!! Now there Manly men!!
God Bless, Stephanie

Hello all,
Well here we are , we made it! Our travel trailer swayed and lurched, we got the flu, (the dogs too) but we are now nestled snugly in our cabin by the creek. There are many things to adjust to.But as even the ground under our feet is diffrent to us, one thing remains the same. The Rock of Salvation which cannot be moved. From shinnig sea to purple mountains, He has carried us on Eagles wings. And though it is not yet home to me,I know His hands have hold of me.
May you know His love today, Stephanie
